‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ Trailer Unveils Revolutionary Struggle

On Monday, Prime Video India unveiled the trailer for “Ae Watan Mere Watan,” featuring Sara Ali Khan in a prominent role. The streaming platform released the nearly three-minute-long video on its YouTube channel. The film is situated amidst the historical landscape of the 1942 Quit India Movement. In the trailer, Sara’s character, Usha, is depicted as a fierce fighter, leading the charge against British rule to liberate the nation.

The trailer immerses the audience in the pre-independence era, unveiling 22-year-old Usha, a college student in Bombay. Driven by her desire to contribute to India’s liberation, she establishes an underground radio station, igniting the flames of the Quit India Movement. Usha’s journey epitomises the bravery, sacrifices, and ingenuity of the nation’s youth during the struggle for independence.

Sara remarked in a statement, “It’s truly an indescribable honour to portray such a formidable character in ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’. Immersing myself in her essence, delving into her psyche, and unravelling her motivations and inspirations has been a deeply humbling and empowering experience. Inspired by true events, the film portrays a significant chapter from India’s struggle for Independence. This patriotic thriller-drama is a production of Dharmatic Entertainment, helmed by producers Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra. Directed by Kannan Iyer, the movie boasts a stellar cast including Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Shrivastav, Alexx O’ Nell, and Anand Tiwari, with a special guest appearance by Emraan Hashmi. “Ae Watan Mere Watan” has been penned by Kannan Iyer and Darab Farooqui.

“Ae Watan Mere Watan” is scheduled for an exclusive premiere on Prime Video in India and over 240 countries and territories globally on March 21st. The film will be available in Hindi with dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
