A few days after the makers of Fukrey 3 announced the latest instalment by revealing a brand-new poster, Ali Fazal issued a statement confirming that this time fans won’t be seeing him as he opted out of the film due to a packed schedule. Ever since Fukrey 3’s poster has been unveiled; fans everywhere have been perplexed why Fazal is missing from the poster.
Putting confusions to rest, the actor shared in a statement, “So Zafar aayega ya nahi? Sab yahi puch rahe hain baar baar. sorry saathiyon, iss baari nahi! Zafar bhai ko kabhi kabhi Guddu bhaiya bhi banna padhta hai. Aur do universes overlap ho jaate hain kabhi kabhi.”
However, Ali Fazal has assured fans that he will eventually return to the Fukrey franchise. He goes on to say, “Once a fukra always a fukra so i am around… But I won’t be coming on screen for the third outing of the Fukras, Bholi and Panditji! I would have wanted to be part of it but time and schedules didn’t allow me to. I will be back in the future at some juncture, maybe sooner than you expect. Zafar will be back after a small detour to entertain you guys!”
Fukrey 3 is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, and will feature Richa Chadha as local gangster Bholi Punjaban and Pankaj Tripathi as Pandit ji. Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, who directed the previous two films, will be returning as the director.
The film will release on September 7 around the Janmashtami weekend across theatres.
