Alia Bhatt Joins Richie Mehta’s ‘Poacher’ as Executive Producer

Prime Video India made a significant announcement on Tuesday, revealing that Alia Bhatt has joined as an executive producer for the crime series “Poacher.” The show, crafted by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Richie Mehta, will feature Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in prominent roles.

“Beneath the silence, the forest reveals a deadly conspiracy… and the hunt for the Poacher begins! Alia Bhatt comes on board as #ExecutiveProducer on #PoacherOnPrime, a new Amazon Original Crime series,” announced the streaming platform on Instagram alongside a captivating poster of the web series.

“Poacher” is a riveting investigative crime series rooted in real-life events, shining a spotlight on the rampant issue of ivory poaching in India. By seamlessly blending elements of environmental conservation with entertainment, the web series aims to raise awareness about the detrimental impacts of illegal poaching. Richie Mehta serves as the mastermind behind the series, handling the creation, writing, and directing duties. Audiences can anticipate the release of “Poacher” in Malayalam, Hindi, and English languages, offering a diverse viewing experience.

Alia, marking her producer debut with the 2022 Netflix India film “Darlings,” expresses her excitement about joining the team.
