The trailer of the much-anticipated film of the year, ‘Glass Onion- A Knives Out Mystery’ was finally released by Netflix, on November 07, 2022.
Directed by Rian Johnson, the movie has a massive and star-striking star cast of Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline with Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista.
In the follow-up to Rian Johnson’s KNIVES OUT, Detective Benoit Blanc travels to Greece to peel back the layers of a mystery involving a new cast of colorful suspects.
The movie is an inspired one. After making the 2005 film ‘Brick’, the writer and director Rian Johnson conceived the basic concept for Knives Out. In June 2010, he voiced his interest in making an Agatha Christie-inspired murder mystery film.
The movie seems like an experience! A must-watch. A bunch of “friends” gather for a murder mystery game, on an island, boarding a rich man’s house for the holiday. It’s a private pool and probably a private beach kind of rich. And these “friends”, would apparently do anything to hold onto him and his wealth. Even commit a real murder. But thank God there’s a detective amongst them.
The movie looks all yachts and old and new money aesthetic, with champagne, ocean, and blood!
Daniel Craig mentioned, “We had such an amazing cast in the last one and I didn’t know how we were going to top that, but we’ve equaled it. The working experience, just to come on set and make these movies is such fun.”
Adding to that, “The mystery is not going to be what keeps the audience in their seats. Remember first and foremost that you’re making a movie and that it has to dramatically work before it intellectually works as a puzzle,” writer-director Rian Johnson says, “That’s actually still the hard part – creating a good story that feels unique and feels exciting and emotionally feels satisfying at the end.”
It’s so important to stand out in this constantly-churning-out-content kind of world we live in. To make something exciting enough to attract people and then uniquely capturing to hold their attention intact.
People are excited about the 2022 winters. Sure, for Thanksgiving and Christmas, too, but also for this movie, which could be the new ‘Holiday’ or ‘Love Actually’, for people who love mysteries.
The movie comes out on Netflix – Friday, December 23, 2022.
