Dharmendra reminisces Raj Kapoor’s legacy

Renowned actor Raj Kapoor didn’t merely create films; he orchestrated grand symphonies of emotion and entertainment, turning these narratives into timeless treasures. As we commemorate the legendary showman on his birth anniversary, which falls on the 14th of December, veteran actor Dharmendra took a poignant stroll down memory lane, reflecting on the late actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor’s 99th birth anniversary.

 

Dharmendra shared a monochromatic candid shot on Thursday, capturing a moment of intimate conversation between himself and Raj Kapoor, hands intertwined. Both impeccably dressed in suits, they sat side by side. Dharmendra, in a heartfelt tweet, conveyed, “Happy Birthday Raj sahab (sir) 🙏, we miss you! You will always be remembered with great love and respect 🙏.”

Raj Kapoor, the luminary of Indian cinema, captivated audiences with his magnetic charm, exceptional talent, and charismatic persona for several decades. He garnered numerous accolades, including three National Film Awards and 11 Filmfare Awards in India. Often referred to as the Showman of Indian cinema, his illustrious works such as Shree 420, Chori Chori, Mera Naam Joker, and more, continue to resonate.

Meanwhile, Dharmendra recently celebrated his 88th birthday, expressing gratitude on social media for the affection received on his special day. On the professional front, he was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The veteran actor is set to appear in an untitled romantic drama alongside Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. Additionally, he has the film Ekkis in his pipeline, scheduled for release on January 10, 2025.
