Pallavi Mohan’s “Not so Serious” is recognized for its glamorous wear that can turn a lady into a dazzling diva. This season she showcased “Life is Beautiful” at FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week. The collection unveiled slinky gowns that would have been envied by Cinderella when she danced at the ball.
Strappy floor-kissing evening wear looked tantalising with sheer robes that were sprinkled with feathers. Glittering mini capes edged once again with feathers was a stylish addition to the evening creations. Necklines plunged dangerously low almost touching the navel for ornate maxis, while cut-outs appeared at the waist for heavily encrusted formal wear. Dramatic gowns with a hint of Grecian flavour looked regal on the runway. Sexy contoured fits appeared fluid and were the highlight of the creation, while ‘A’ line, along with ultra-feminine capes and capelets were at times accessorised with boas.
The colour choice was a dramatic use of steel grey, which moved from powder blue, blush, sage green and then finally onto navy blue and the classic ivory.
Fabrics that worked well for the collection were rich in textures and draped beautifully for the ensembles that were highlighted with expert embellishments in intricate patterns. There were a variety of fluid metallic Satins, tulle, and jacquards along with laser cut metallic faux leather, which proved to be some of the luxurious choices. Hemlines stayed at floor level but were at times asymmetrical or moved up to expose shapely legs. Detailing played a vital role for the ensemble as prints and jewel tones were enhanced with laser cut appliqués.
Bringing the show to a glamorous end was the lovely, lissome Diana Penty, who glided in a glittering, slinky, ivory, backless gown with strategic cut-outs at the waist.
