Purn vritt is the latest avant-garde collection by Indo-German designer duo Prakash and Georg for the label Cocccon. The collection will resemble the indigenous performing art of Jharkhand which speaks about the conflict between circular (jeevan chakra) and linear (jeevan rekha) lifestyle.

The collection is made of materials that are biodegradable and have no trace of negative impact on mother earth. The principal material is organically produced peace silk, where silkworm completes their full life cycle and become beautiful butterflies. Sericulture is performed under strict organic procedures, including zero carbon measures. Patterns of this collection are made using zero waste techniques. This collection is plastic-free (crude oil-free) in terms of auxiliaries.

Materials such as Silicon/ plastic boning, polyester mesh can-can, chemical adhesive-based fusing, pasting, etc. are avoided, and instead, alternative materials are used from natural resources like bamboo or cane. Project Cocccon is GOTS, WFTO, OCS certified and won German Sustainability Award Design 2021.

Taking forward its initiative from last season, RISE Worldwide introduces the second edition of ‘All About India’, a project that not only brings about designer & cluster collaborations to revive crafts but also curates designer showcases with out-of-the-box creative concepts. Three designers, namely, Chola, Heumn, Khanijo through this showcase will be seen breaking stereotypes assigned to sustainable fashion: of it being boring, of it lacking style, of it lacking glamour, and so on.

The film will highlight processes & techniques that make sustainable fashion not just fair to the people & the planet but also stand for style (everlasting even), statement, conversation starters, glamourous and everything that it generally not associated with ethical fashion.
