Panchayat Season 2 – Prime Video

After a successful first season, Prime Video gratified audience with Panchayat Season 2 earlier this year. Starring Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Faisal Malik, Raghubir Yadav and Chandan Roy, the series enhanced the expectations with its strong storyline, direction, screenplay, dialogues and powerful performances by the actors. The second season witnessed Abhishek (Jitendra) taking more interest in village politics while also preparing himself for his CAT exams. Season 2 substantiated to be the perfect mix of drama, laughter and emotions. It received a strong IMDb rating of 8.9+ rating.

Aashram Season 3 – MX Player

The highly-anticipated third volume of Prakash Jha’s famous series Aashram left the spectators amazed with unexpected plot, twists and turns. Aashram narrates the exploits of Baba Nirala (Bobby Deol), a godman/conman who has created a political/criminal empire in the appearance of a spiritual enterprise. The third season get off when one of Baba’s disciples Pammi (Aaditi Pohankar) escaped from his clutches; having been sexually exploited by him and is now out for revenge. In the background, there was a crowd of characters and plot lines about Baba’s lust for power, women and the changing political fortunes of the state where his ashram is located. With a superb cast including Bobby Deol, Aaditi Pohankar and Chandan Roy Sanyal, Ek Badnaam…Aashram aired on 3rd June 2022 and won an overwhelming response from critics and viewers alike. With an astounding 7+ rating on IMDb, this wonderful series is streaming free of cost on MX Player.

Delhi Crime 2 – Netflix

One of Netflix’s welcomed possessions, Delhi Crime starring Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal and Rajesh Tailang came back with season 2 this year. The story of Season 2 moves around a fictionalized version of an original crime that took place in 2012, where serial killers brutally murdered elderly people in the city. But, in spite of the rise in death rates, the police were unable to identify and arrest the culprit. Putting an end to this dreadful series of killings will be a challenge for Vartika’s team. While the sequel was much brutal and graphic, it managed to maintain sufficient sensitivity and finesse; grabbing eyeballs all across.

Gullak Season 3 – SonyLIV

One of the most-loved slice-of-life series, Sony Liv’s Gullak superintended to keep a rare feat with Season 3 this year and it only got better. The Mishra’s came back on screen to share their kisse-kahaniya about a middle-class family which is struggling to make ends meet and who are as real as everyone else. Starring Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, and Harsh Mayar in central roles, Season 3 observed the grown-up version of the Mishra brothers. While Aman’s dreams enlarge, Annu’s desires also try to expand, he considers it better to sacrifice them for the betterment of the family. This family dramedy proves to be a hit with flawless performances supported by good writing.

Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach Season 3 – Disney+ Hotstar

Disney+ Hotstar’s admired series ‘Criminal Justice’, returned with Season 3 this year. With Pankaj Tripathi yet once more putting on the lawyer’s coat as Madhav Mishra, the latest season fixates on the mysterious death of  Zara Ahuja (Deshna Dugad), a famous teenage celebrity. Her step-brother Mukul (Aaditya Gupta) as the prime suspect in this case was arrested and Madhav Mishra is presented to  rescue him. A strong script, engaging screenplay and top-notch acting changed this eight-episode season into instant hit.

Dharavi Bank – MX Player

One of MX Player’s most anticipated valuable gems, Dharavi Bank was aired on November 19, 2022. Featuring the digital debut of Suniel Shetty, the series is acknowledged to be one of the best revenge dramas in recent times with an amazing 9+ rating on IMDb. Placed in the slums of Mumbai’s Dharavi, the show focuses on the fight for power between Dharavi’s dangerous gangster Thalaivan which has approached the deepest roots of the slum and Chief Minister Janvi Surve along with Joint Commissioner of Police Jayant Gavaskar. From drama to high-octane action, from thrilling performances to emotions, Dharavi Bank grabbed viewers’ attention and now they’re actively waiting for Season 2. Directed by Samit Kakkad, the series presents a stellar cast of Suniel Shetty, Sonali Kulkarni,  Vivek Oberoi, Luke Kenny and Freddy Daruwala. It is currently streaming for free on MX Player.

Saas Bahu Aur Achaar Pvt Ltd – Zee5

Featuring Yamini Das, Manu Bisht, Amruta Subhash and Anjana Sukhani in lead roles, Saas Bahu Aur Achaar Pvt Ltd is truly one of the best drama series of 2022. The story takes it shape around a woman who is struggling her level best to set up her pickle business and earn money to gain custody of her children from her ex-husband. She is assisted by her ex-mother-in-law to market and sell her pickles while her children go towards the wrong way creating new challenges. With a good message, it is a very simple but relatable series. The ease with which the show paints the bittersweet relationship among the characters is what turns this Zee5 content stand out.
