Birthday Special: 5 films of Hrithik Roshan that you need to binge-watch in celebration of the Desi Greek God

A superstar in his own accord, Hrithik Roshan, popularly known as the “Greek God’ of Indian cinema turns 49th today! A powerhouse performer with phenomenal dancing and action skills, since his debut, he has consistently been a fan favourite.

One of the finest actors in Bollywood, from his debut in Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai in 2000 playing a double role to his latest release Vikram Vedha where he dons the role of a brute gangster, his unmatched acting skills combined with stellar dance moves has always received audience appreciation.

If you are someone who plans to binge on films featuring the heartthrob, here are 5 of his best performances that you should absolutely re-watch:

Lakshya:

Released almost 18 years back, this Military-drama is considered the best acting performance of Hrithik Roshan to date. Helmed by Farhan Akhtar, the film tells the story of an aimless, irresponsible man who joins the army and matures into a battlefield hero.

Dhoom 2:

Portraying the role of a fearless and adventurous thief, Hrithik Roshan as Mr. A in Dhoom 2, was a class apart. He steals valuable artefacts and teams up with the girl (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) he is attracted to but cannot trust while being chased by a determined cop (Abhishek Bachchan). An instant box office success, the film went on to become one of Roshan’s career’s biggest hits.

Jodhaa Akbar:

Roshan effortlessly slipped into the shoes of Mughal Emperor Akbar in the Ashutosh Gowariker directorial venture that became a huge commercial success. Acting alongside the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the actor effortlessly embraced the character of the ruler and eventually went to win many notable awards for his role in the period drama.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara:

A feel-good movie of three friends reconnecting to strengthen their friendship on a road-trip, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara continues to be an endearing watch when you just need to dive into a happy story. Starring alongside Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol, Hrithik Roshan’s portrayal of Arjun Saluja was absolutely charming and chivalrous.

Vikram Vedha:

Pushing the envelope, Hrithik’s most recent venture Vikram Vedha showcases him as a seemingly villainous gangster who seeks to put righteous cop Vikram (played by Saif Ali Khan) on the grey path of understanding that right and wrong are a matter of perspectives and everything in this world cannot be completely defined as good or evil. His incredible acting skills earned him some well-deserved rave reviews from critics and masses alike.
