India’s National Film Award 2019: Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal shared the award for being the Best Actor

The 66th National Film Awards recently took place at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. This is one of the most prestigious awards in India. This year Dadasaheb Phalke awardee Amitabh Bachchan could not attend this event. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu had honoured all the winners in the presence of Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar. 
Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal shared the award for being the Best Actor for “Andhadhun” and “Uri: The Surgical Strike” respectively, Arijit Singh received the award for Best Playback Singer (Male). Best Film on Social Issues was given to Akshay Kumar’s “PadMan”.
The best Hindi film has been awarded to “Andhadhun” whereas the best director has been awarded to Aditya Dhar for “Uri: The Surgical strike”. Sanjay Leela Bhansali received the best Music Direction award for “Padmaavat”.
On the other hand, Keerthy Suresh was overwhelmed to receive the best female actor award for her portrayal as Savitri in “Mahanati”. Surekha Sikri received the best-supporting Actress Award for her performance in “Badhaai Ho”. Scroll down for the latest picture from the event…
