Janhvi Kapoor Joins Surya’s “Karna” Cast

Janhvi Kapoor is set to grace the silver screen alongside a stellar ensemble of South Indian icons, comprising Jr NTR, Ram Charan, and the illustrious Suriya, promising an extraordinary cinematic experience in the making.

Janhvi Kapoor’s Bollywood journey continues to soar, and her debut Telugu project “Devara” alongside Jr NTR is swiftly gaining momentum, promising a bright future ahead. The latest buzz surrounds her signing onto a Hindi film with Tamil superstar Suriya, helmed by acclaimed director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Excitingly, this news was personally confirmed by her father, Boney Kapoor, in an engaging discussion with the YouTube channel iDream Media. Boney Kapoor expressed his excitement, stating, “My daughter has already embarked on her journey with Jr NTR in a film, thoroughly enjoying every moment on set. Additionally, she’s set to collaborate with Ram Charan in an upcoming project. Both actors are thriving, and she feels privileged to be working alongside them. Looking ahead, she eagerly anticipates her collaboration with Suriya. Drawing inspiration from my wife, Sridevi, who graced multiple languages, I hope Janhvi follows suit and continues to explore diverse cinematic realms.”

After relocating to Mumbai some years ago, Suriya ventured into Hindi cinema, marking a new chapter for himself. Discussions with director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for “Karna,” a project based on the Mahabharata, had been ongoing, and it was officially announced late last year that Suriya would take on the titular role. Now, with the latest development, Janhvi Kapoor has also joined the cast as the female lead. Described as an ambitious endeavour, the film is slated for a grand release in two parts, promising a cinematic spectacle of epic proportions.

Amidst his commitments to the grand production “Kanguva” and his upcoming collaboration with Sudha Kongara, Suriya finds himself fully occupied. “Karna,” his much-anticipated magnum opus, is expected to commence filming towards the latter part of 2024. Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor is gearing up for her next project, “Devara,” alongside Jr NTR, where Saif Ali Khan portrays the antagonist. Scheduled for release this October, the film faces an eight-month delay, heightening anticipation for its unveiling.
