Nag Ashwin’s much-anticipated film “Kalki 2898 AD” premiered in theatres on June 27, drawing enthusiastic responses from both fans and critics. Featuring an all-star cast including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, this cinematic marvel has set a new benchmark for Indian cinema.

Celebrated actor Vijay Deverakonda, who has a cameo role in the film, and actress Rashmika Mandanna attended a special screening and couldn’t contain their excitement. Rashmika expressed her admiration on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “OH MY FREAKING GOD! @nagashwin7 you are a beautiful GENIUS! INCREDIBLE!! Congratulations Kalki. “Kalki 2898 AD” seamlessly blends science fiction with mythological elements, taking place 6000 years after the Mahabharata. Prabhas stars as Bhairava, a bounty hunter from Kashi, while Deepika Padukone plays SUM-80, a pregnant test subject. Amitabh Bachchan embodies Ashwatthama from Indian mythology, and Kamal Haasan portrays Supreme Yaskin, leader of the Complex.

The film’s narrative follows Bhairava’s quest to earn enough units to secure a place in the complex, with his plans thwarted by Ashwatthama. Directed by Nag Ashwin, this post-apocalyptic tale, inspired by Hindu scriptures and set in 2898 AD, is one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious projects, boasting a budget of ₹600 crore.
