Kangana Ranaut comments on Priyanka Chopra’s move to the West

Kangana Ranaut has reacted to Priyanka Chopra’s decision to leave Bollywood and move to Hollywood after reaching the pinnacle of success. In a recent interview, Priyanka had expressed her dissatisfaction with the political nature of the movie industry and how it had made her feel cornered. Kangana was among the first to respond to Priyanka’s allegations and claimed that she had been banned by Karan Johar. It’s worth noting that the two actresses had previously worked together in the movie “Fashion” in 2008.

On Tuesday, Taking her Twitter handle, Kangana replied about Priyanka Chopra’s explanation for left Bollywood.

“This is what ⁦@priyankachopra⁩ has to say about Bollywood, people ganged up on her, bullied her and chased her out of film industry a self-made woman was made to leave India. Everyone knows Karan Johar had banned her. Media wrote extensively about her fall out with Karan Johar because of her friendship with SRK and movie mafia Cruella who is always looking for vulnerable outsiders saw a perfect punching bag in PC and went all out in harassing her to a point where she had to leave India. This obnoxious, jealous, mean and toxic person should be held accountable for ruining the culture and environment of film industry which was never hostile to outsiders in the days of AB or SRK. His gang and mafia PR should be raided and held accountable for harassing outsiders, she wrote.

During an interview on the show Armchair Expert with Dax Shepherd, Priyanka opened up about her decision to pursue a career in music in the west. She explained that she was facing challenges with industry politics and was not receiving good roles. It was at this time that her current manager and friend Anjula Acharia proposed the idea of exploring opportunities in the western music industry.”I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break,” she said.

Although she initially appeared in a handful of music videos with Pitbull and other artistes, Priyanka gained widespread recognition for her role in the popular television series, Quantico. Her performance earned her consecutive People’s Choice Awards. Currently, Priyanka is set to appear in the Hollywood film Love Again, as well as the Russo Brothers’ TV series, Citadel.
