Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI: 49th Edition Schedule Unveiled!

Anticipation is at an all-time high as India’s esteemed and largest Fashion Week, the Lakmē Fashion Week, in collaboration with FDCI, returns to the heart of Mumbai. The House of Lakmē, along with the Fashion Design Council of India and Reliance Brands (RBL), has unveiled the schedule and dates for the forthcoming season, scheduled to grace the prestigious Jio World Convention Center from March 13th to 17th, 2024.

The House of Lakmē is set to unveil a groundbreaking fusion of beauty and technology, embodying a modern, trendsetting, and high-performance approach to beauty. As the platform prepares to unveil its 49th edition, audiences nationwide are invited to embark on an enchanting journey of sartorial opulence, with a lineup of eminent designers set to command the spotlight.

The inaugural day of Lakmē Fashion Week x FDCI will commence with the highly anticipated INIFD Presents GenNext show, followed by the unveiling of the Fashion x Beauty Trend Magazine – LFW Edition. Presented by Lakmē, this trend magazine will spotlight the latest global trends in fashion, beauty, design, and lifestyle for the 2024/25 season. The grand finale on March 17th, hosted by the House of Lakmē, will feature the debut of an award-winning couturier’s newest collection.

Founded with a mission to elevate the fashion industry, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) boasts a membership exceeding 400, dedicated to supporting, nurturing, and showcasing the nation’s top fashion and creative talent. With a spotlight on handlooms, deeply rooted in the country’s rich heritage of indigenous crafts, FDCI remains steadfast in its commitment to promote the “Made in India” ethos. Attendees will have access to the FDCI Stockroom, facilitating direct engagement with off-the-ramp collections and interactions with designers on-site. This season, FDCI presents three captivating showcases: FDCI Presents ‘Measure’, featuring an international Designer, GQ X FDCI Men’s Edit showcasing designers Countrymade, Jaywalking, and Rishta by Arjun Saluja, and a collaboration with Pearl Academy for ‘First Cut’.

Reliance Brands, a leading entity in India’s luxury and fashion sectors, spearheads Lakmē Fashion Week x FDCI, prioritizing the nurturing of young designers and fashion talent alongside fostering sustainability efforts. Notable initiatives such as INIFD presents GenNext and R|ElanTM Presents Circular Design Challenge underscore the organization’s commitment to these endeavors. Originating in India through collaboration with R|ElanTM and the UN, the Circular Design Challenge has garnered global recognition, with winner Anish Malpani of ‘Without’ set to showcase his prowess on the international stage this season. Additionally, the fusion of heritage and contemporary elegance will be on display as JJ Valaya presents his latest collection, JJV Kapurthala, at the R|ElanTM showcase during Lakmē Fashion Week x FDCI.

The opening night, presented by FDCI and RBL, promises an exceptional fusion of fashion and sport. The highlight of the evening will be a collaborative showcase featuring the renowned polo brand La Martina, presenting a special capsule collection crafted by the visionary designer Rajesh Pratap Singh.

On Day 2 (Sustainable Fashion Day), the runway will be graced by designers such as Yavi, TIL, Inca, Gaurang, Akaaro by Gaurav Jai Gupta, and Urvashi Kaur. Adding a unique flavor to the event, Tea Culture of the World, in collaboration with Chola, will offer the audience an immersive experience blending the essence of tea with Chola’s vibrant and playful collection. Making a triumphant comeback after the previous New Delhi season, Kalki graces the runway this edition with the mesmerizing INARA collection. This showcase unveils a world of timeless elegance and sophistication, marking a significant moment in the fashion landscape.

The season boasts an impressive lineup of designers, including the likes of Anushree Reddy, Archana Rao, Aikeyah, Deme by Gabriella, Esse, Diksha Khanna, Gaurang, Itrh, Nirmooha, Ranna Gill, Rajdeep Ranawat, Ritika Mirchandani, SWGT, Siddharth Tytler, Shahin Mannan, Valliyan, 1:30, and many more.
