Mammals, the highly anticipated UK Original series from award-winning writer Jez Butterworth starring Tony, Emmy, and BAFTA winner, James Corden – is all set to premiere 11th November worldwide, only on Prime Video.

The trailer makes the series look straight out of a Sally Rooney novel. A contemporary classic! Only the trailers that don’t give away much about the plot of the movie or the show, and still manage to lure people in to watch it, should be given the green signal. This intriguing trailer gets a bright emerald one!

L-R – Jamie Buckingham (James Corden), Amadine Buckingham (Melia Kreiling)

The show is said to be a dark-comedic drama, in which, revelations of illicit affairs and buried secrets are further dug up, leading to convolutions in modern marriage. “Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world”, when they do walk into yours, what happens after? When you’ve found ‘the one’ from among eight billion? Can you stay true to the vows made, or do you give in to finding another tree for shade? Because after all, we are all just Mammals.

The series revolves around Jamie (James Corden), a chef whose world shifts beneath his feet when he discovers shocking secrets about his pregnant wife, Amandine (Melia Kreiling). I guess the hilarious scene of him puking on a cliff after receiving a text makes sense. Jamie finds himself hunting for answers with the help of his brother-in-law Jeff (Colin Morgan). Amidst this hunt, the cracks in Jeff’s marriage to Jamie’s sister Lue (Sally Hawkins) also widen.

‘Mammals’ is a six-part series written by the two-time Olivier and Tony Award-winning Jez Butterworth, which is about the labyrinths of a marriage; where there is sorrow, heartache, love, tension, friendship, betrayal, and a touch of magical realism.

The series is directed by Stephanie Laing (Made for Love, Physical) and produced by Street Hassle in association with Vertigo Films and Fulwell 73.

A six-episode dark comedy series will launch worldwide, exclusively on Prime Video on 11th November.
