Rocketry Triumphs as Best Feature Film at 69th National Film Awards

The 69th National Film Awards were unveiled on Thursday through a press conference held at the National Media Centre in Delhi. The film “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” secured the coveted title of Best Film, while “Sardar Udham” earned recognition as the Best Hindi Film. Among the top honours, the Best Actor and Actress awards were clinched by Allu Arjun, Alia Bhatt, and Kriti Sanon.

In the previous year, it was Ajay Devgn and Suriya who had clinched the Best Actor accolade for their outstanding performances in “Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior” and “Soororai Pottru,” respectively. Notably, Suriya’s co-star, Aparna Balamurali, had also been honoured with the Best Actress award. Additionally, “Soororai Pottru” had triumphed in the category of Best Feature Film.

Karan Johar took to his Instagram Stories to share a still and poster from “Shershaah,” adorned with the tricolour emojis. His production company, Dharma Productions, expressed their gratitude and respect as “Shershaah” was bestowed with the Special Jury Award in the Feature Films category at the 69th National Film Awards. They extended heartfelt thanks to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and their cherished audience for the unwavering affection.

Pankaj Tripathi, acclaimed for his role in Laxman Utekar’s “Mimi,” clinched the title of Best Supporting Actor. In a reflective moment, he expressed, “This period is unfortunately marked by sorrow and mourning for me. Had Babuji been present, he would have been overjoyed for my achievement. When I initially received a mention about the National Award, he was immensely proud and delighted. This National Award is a tribute to him and his indomitable spirit. The person I am today is a result of his influence. While words fail me during this time of loss, I find solace in my happiness and gratitude towards the team. Kriti, too, has secured the Best Actress award, and my hearty congratulations to her.”

Kangana Ranaut has congratulated all the winners of the National Film Awards. Taking her instagram handle the actress wrote, “Congratulations to all #nationalawards2023. It is such an art carnival that brings all the artists across the country together. It’s truly magical to know and to get introduced to so much important work that’s happening across all languages.

She also added, “All of you who are disappointed that my film Thalaivii didn’t win any… please know I am eternally grateful for whatever Krishna gave and didn’t give me and all of you who really love and appreciate me must appreciate my perspective as well … Art is subjective and I truly believe that the jury did their best …. I wish everyone the best Hare Krishna C2 V.”
