Sidharth Malhotra Starrer Shershaah All Set To Release On August 12

This Independence Day, witness an incredible story of valor, love, and sacrifice. In a first-ever and landmark collaboration between Amazon Prime Video and Dharma Productions for a global premiere, Amazon Original Movie Shershaah will premiere on the service starting August 12, 2021.

The film featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani has been delayed for a while now owing to the global pandemic. While the makers were hoping for a theatrical release, they have finally decided to opt for a global premiere through Amazon Prime Videos.

In a recent tweet shared by Siddharth Malhotra, he dropped the trailer of the film captioning it “Heroes live on through their stories. We are honored to bring to you the true story of the Kargil War hero, Captain Vikram Batra (PVC). A film with a long journey for me & a real-life character I am proud to play. #ShershaahOnPrime comes out on 12th August only on @PrimeVideoIN

 

Based on the heroic life of Captain Vikram Batra, Shershaah is a tribute to his bravery and sacrifice.

Karan Johar also shared his views and stated “Shershaah is the true story of a war hero whose indomitable spirit and bravery brought victory to our nation. His sacrifices are invaluable and his life is an inspiration for generations to come. We are extremely glad to have found a home for what I believe is a true cinematic marvel, in Amazon Prime Video, and are excited to mark the beginning of a new chapter in our relationship with them. Shershaah is our homage to the valor of our soldiers and I hope every viewer’s heart swells with pride watching this film,”

The film is directed by Vishnu Varadhan and has been backed by a collaboration between Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment.

Along with featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead, the film also has Shiv Pandit, Raj Arjun, Pranay Pachauri, Himanshu Ashok Malhotra, Nikitin Dheer, Ankita Goraya, Anil Charanjeett, Sahil Vaid, Shataf Figar, and Pawan Chopra in crucial roles.
