We all love a hot and sweet package. Aditya Roy Kapoor is just that. The star turns 37 today, and there goes another successful year for him, with making women drool.
He started his journey in 2009, with London Dreams and an afro. Neither the debut movie, nor the other side roles got him as much recognition as the 2013 hit Aashiqui 2 did. And since then, he hasn’t stopped topping the bollywood chocolate boy list. Not only his female fan following is large and crazy, but also some celebrities, can attest to his irresistible looks.
On the occasion of his winter birthday, here are 5 Aditya Roy Kapoor films to eat ice cream to, wishing he was not just in the screen.
The star he debuted with – Shraddha Kapoor, Aditya has always had undeniable chemistry and great hits with her. OK Jaanu is atop the ‘Favourite Aditya Roy Kapoor movies’, for so many fans. A cute, realistic, bollywood no-strings-attached to aww to, OK Jaanu is the film you should start your movie marathon with.
A hot winter. The frames, scenes and colors of this film will leave yearning for more. It gives very poetic vibes. The passionate film is that of a trope of forbidden love. The stable boy and princess. Garnished with rich Kashmiri culture and beautiful names like ‘Firdaus’ and ‘Noor’. Aaah! It’s the perfect winter movie to snuggle to.
For a change of a pace, let’s jump to a roller coaster of a drama/anthology. With multiple stories of multiple characters going on at the same time, the drama and comedy is multiplied as well. The film came on the OTT at the peak of covid, and I remember the audience absolutely loving the Anurag Basu film. It’s personally one of my favourite Aditya Roy Kapoor movies.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
This movie is a modern classic. If you haven’t seen it already, then you’re probably a person with leaves for clothes, living under a rock. Who should continue to wear leaves if they wish, but should come out from beneath the rock and watch the film! Friends, hiking trip, best friend’s wedding, right person at the wrong time, you name it and you got it. It’s made up of everything you need to make people go bonkers. From pre-teens sighing and wishing for it, to thirty and forty year olds reminiscing it all.
The list wouldn’t have been complete without Aashiqui 2. It literally established a preset for the music industry after 2013. Honestly, I think it was the peak, marking the end of a good era, probably. Because we all know how bollywood music’s graph has taken its course. Aashiqui 2 is also one of the movies that will go down in one of the most memorable bollywood films list.
Aditya Roy Kapoor has done less amount of films, but clearly it has worked out for him, because his choice of films have been yielding.
