Directed by Delhi-born Nisha Pahuja, an Emmy-nominated filmmaker based in Toronto, the film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival 2022. At the festival, it secured the Amplify Voices Award for Best Canadian Feature Film, further solidifying its recognition.

The film narrates the arduous journey of Ranjit as he fights tirelessly to attain justice for his 13-year-old daughter, who was abducted and later subjected to sexual assault by three men. However, his respite is short-lived, as villagers and their leaders initiate a sustained campaign to coerce the family into withdrawing the charges. Described as a cinematic documentary, “To Kill a Tiger” chronicles Ranjit’s uphill battle in his quest for justice for his child. Cornelia Principe and David Oppenheim are acknowledged as the film’s producers.
