Vicky Kaushal feels nostalgic as Masaan clocks 6 years today

There are always some movies that leave a never-ending impression on our hearts and 2015 released Masaan is one of such movies.

Today the movie makes six successful years. With the release of the movie, the Hindi cinema industry got another masterpiece work that was a seamless confluence of four struggling lives in the spiritual capital of India, Varanasi.

With time, this poignant saga of love and loss feels more relevant. Helmed by National Award-winning director Neeraj Ghaywan, the movie marked the big break for Vicky Kaushal as a lead actor in the film opposite Shweta Tripathi Sharma. Both the stars feel nostalgic as the movie clocked six years today.

Taking to Instagram space, Vicky Kaushal shared some throwback pictures of himself as Deepak from Masaan. In the photo, he is seen posing in a white vest at the backdrop of a river. Sharing the photos, he wrote, “24th July 2015. #forevergrateful.”

Vicky Kaushal further went to express his fondness for the film with a beautiful track from Masaan. He shared a video in which he is lip-syncing to Masaan song “Tu Kisi Rail Si.” The happy and pleasant expressions on his face are enough to tell us about his love for the movie. He also shared series of throwback photos from the film on his Instagram story. The film is considered to be a turning point in the actor’s career that gave him immense fame and popularity.

Actress Shweta Tripathi Sharma also shared some memories from the film and marked six successful years of the film.  Taking to the Instagram story, she dropped a throwback still from the film.

Richa Chadha also reminisced beautiful memories from the film and dropped a still of her from the film on her Instagram story. Further remembering some more memories, she shared throwback pictures with cast and crew on her Instagram. Sharing the photos, she wrote, “This turns 6! Feels like yesterday…made amazing friends on this one. Love to everyone who supported this film. But special love and squeezes to Neeraj. I love you Neeraj and I think about you everyday, you’re a gift to the world of cinema. More power to you. Thank you for being an amazing friend, someone I learn from ❤️.”

Written by Varun Grover, Masaan won many international and national awards. It was screened at the inaugural New York Dalit Film and Cultural Festival in 2019. The story revolves around four lives in the city of Varanasi. As the synopsis suggests, Devi struggles to shake off the social stigma of pre-marital sexual relations. Meanwhile, lovers Deepak and Shalu attempt to transcend the restrictions of their casteist society. But their lives pan out towards accidental fates. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Sanjay Mishra in pivotal roles.

Masaan was a huge hit and a critically successful movie. It also had a contribution of soulful tracks including Man Kasturi, Bhor and Tu Kisi Rail Si.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Vicky Kaushal will be next seen in The Immortal Ashwatthama. He will also be seen in Karan Johar’s Takht, starring Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pedneker.
