Enjoy The Original: A. R Rahman

Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria’s new track Masakali 2.0 dropped on the internet recently. This song is recreated version of Delhi 6’s song Masakali which was originally composed by Oscar Winner maestro AR Rahman. The new song has been remixed by Tanishk Bagchi.

Ever since it has been released, this music track is receiving the negative response and highly criticized from the netizen on the social media platform.

AR Rahman who was the original composer of this song is not so happy with this recreated version. He took to the twitter to take a dig at this modernized version and urged to his fans to listen to the original track of Masakali from the film of Delhi 6.

Sharing a link of his song in his social media handle, he wrote, “Enjoy the original.”

He also tweeted a statement, “No short cuts, properly commissioned, sleepless nights, writes and re-writes. Over 200 musicians, 365 days of creative brainstorming with the aim to produce music that can last generations. A team of a Director, a Composer and a Lyricist supported by actors, dance directors and a relentless film crew. – Lots of love and prayers A.R. Rahman.”

On the other hand Director of Delhi’6 Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra twitted, “#Delhi6 the movie & it’s songs created with so much Luv & passion, let’s save the original creations for generations to come. #saynotoRemixes.”

Not only the director but many have come out in support of A R Rahman. Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel who is known for expressing her open thoughts on social site and often her thoughts have become the talk of the town of Bollywood. Rangoli has now come out in her support and said that this new version is “cheap atrocious copy” in her latest tweet.

She wrote, “Nothing worse for an artist when his/her genius work is violently taken from them turned in to a cheap atrocious copy and sold for dimwits low IQ audience, art must cultivate the audience to enjoy fine work not ruin the fine work to suit tacky gawar audience…”

The original track was sung by Mohit Chouhan and the new one has been sung by Tulsi Kumar and Sachet Tandon. Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Delhi-6’s Masakali features Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor.
