Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, known for his Sunday meetings with fans outside his bungalow Jalsa, broke his tradition of meeting them barefoot.
On June 25, he surprised fans by wearing shoes, which he explained in his blog post. Bachchan mentioned that he had blisters on his feet from shooting barefoot the previous day, and to avoid any discomfort or prolonged incapacitation, he took the precaution of wearing shoes this time.
Amitabh penned “… and a big difference today .. SHOES .. shoes because, shooting bare feet, whole of yesterday, gave rise to a rise in what is generally referred to bumps in the foot .. named blisters .. a similar incident earlier had incapacitated the body for long so taking precaution .. so the temple is still the same, and next time round it shall be revered ..
He also added, “So yes where were we .. aah yes the Sunday without shoes .. or rather without them .. yes yes yes .. they shall be without the next time .. So .. oh there we are again .. on ‘so’ .. no really .. so I need to go and study my dialogues and lines for the morrow .. for the shoot ..and there is the traditional.”
The actor wrote, “.. a provision for drinking water .. with a bit of lime to quench the thirst of them that come to the gates of the J .. the GOJ .. 2 on each side .. and paper glasses to maintain hygiene .. !!”

However, he assured his fans that the tradition of meeting them barefoot would continue in the future.
Additionally, Bachchan shared details of the arrangements made for the fans, including provision for drinking water with a touch of lime, ensuring hygiene with disposable paper glasses.
Previously, Amitabh Bachchan had explained his choice of going barefoot to meet fans, emphasizing that his well-wishers are like a temple to him. He dismissed sarcastic comments, stating that comfort is essential, and he chooses to break away from imposed traditions.
He mentioned how formal shoes have been replaced by comfortable white-bordered sneakers or other casual footwear.
On the professional front, Bachchan was last seen in Zee5’s “Uunchai.” His upcoming projects include “Project K” and Ribhu Dasgupta’s courtroom drama film, “Section 84.”
