Universal Pictures has officially set the release date for the next chapter in the Jurassic World saga. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the dinosaur-centric film is slated to hit theatres on July 2, 2025.
Filmmaker David Leitch is reportedly in negotiations to helm the upcoming project. Additionally, David Koepp, renowned for his work on Steven Spielberg’s original 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park and its 1997 sequel Jurassic Park: The Lost World, has been enlisted to pen the script for the sequel to 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion.
As per earlier reports from the publication, the upcoming film is anticipated to herald a “new Jurassic era,” indicating a departure from the characters portrayed by Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, who were introduced in Colin Trevorrow’s 2015 film Jurassic World. It’s improbable that the characters portrayed by Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum from the original Jurassic Park saga will make an appearance in the fourth installment of the Jurassic World franchise.
The upcoming movie will have Steven Spielberg as an executive producer under his production banner Amblin Entertainment. Joining him as producers are fellow Jurassic Park veterans Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, as well as David Leitch and Kelly McCormick from 87North.
