Sidharth Malhotra Speaks Out Against Fan Page Scam

Actor Sidharth Malhotra has recently addressed a troubling issue involving a fraudulent fan page. The actor issued a statement following a revelation by a user on X (formerly Twitter), who claimed to have been defrauded of ₹50 lakh by a fan page impersonating Malhotra’s affiliation.

In his statement, Malhotra expressed his concern over these fraudulent activities and assured his fans that neither he nor his family or team are involved. He emphasized the importance of caution when dealing with such matters, urging everyone to report any suspicious requests to the proper authorities and to avoid spreading misinformation. “My fans have always been my biggest strength, and your trust and safety are my top priorities,” Malhotra stated.

The actor highlighted the growing issue of individuals falsely claiming to be connected to him or his family, or posing as fans to solicit money. This response came after an X user, Minoo Vasudevan, shared her experience online. Vasudevan revealed that between October and December 2023, she was defrauded of ₹50 lakh by administrators Aliza and Husna Parveen from the fan page @sidmalhotra.updates. Additionally, Vasudevan’s friend Maariya, in the UK, was also scammed out of 10.5K rupees during a similar period.

Vasudevan’s post included alarming claims that the scammers alleged Malhotra’s life was at risk due to his wife, actress Kiara Advani. They falsely claimed that Advani had threatened to harm Malhotra’s family after he rejected her advances during the filming of “Shershaah.” The allegations also implicated industry figures such as Karan Johar, Shashank Khaitan, Apoorva Mehta, and Manish Malhotra, with accusations of cheating and black magic.

Sidharth Malhotra, who was last seen in “Yodha” directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, married Kiara Advani in 2023, two years after their appearance in “Shershaah.” Through his statement, Malhotra aims to protect his fans from similar scams and reinforce his commitment to their well-being.
