Vikrant Massey is making a bold statement against unprofessionalism on set. Addressing the issue on the latest episode of Unfiltered by Samdish, Vikrant openly discussed the behaviour of certain actors who prioritize creating reels over their professional commitments. He also took the opportunity to commend actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar for his exceptional work ethic.
During the episode, when asked about his encounters with unprofessional actors, Vikrant responded in Hindi, “It’s a common occurrence. Some actors arrive on set and their primary focus is on creating and sharing reels. I won’t mention any names, even though it might attract attention. But that individual knows, and they were made aware of it then and there, fulfilling my purpose at that moment. I’m straightforward and have nothing besides my work. I’m passionate about my craft, and acting is my everything.”
Vikrant then went on to mention his co-star from Dil Dhadakne Do, Farhan Akhtar, expressing deep admiration for his remarkable work ethic and professionalism on set. He remarked, “I truly find him inspiring. Think about it, what doesn’t he have? He’s Javed Akhtar’s son. While working on Dil Dhadakne Do, not only was he acting, but he was also producing the film, and his sister Zoya Akhtar was directing it. Despite all that, during rehearsals, he never relied on a script. He memorised not only his own lines but also those of other actors in the scene. If someone as accomplished as Farhan Akhtar can put in such effort, then it’s a wake-up call for the rest of us.”
In his latest endeavour, Vikrant Massey starred in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s acclaimed film “12th Fail,” a role that garnered him immense praise and his inaugural Filmfare award for Best Actor. The movie delves into the inspiring narrative of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who triumphed over dire poverty to achieve the prestigious rank of IPS officer.
