Celebrations abound for actor Yami Gautam and director Aditya Dhar as they anticipate parenthood. After three years of marriage, the couple eagerly awaits the arrival of their newest family member. Yami, currently five months pregnant, is set to welcome their bundle of joy later this year. Reflecting on her journey, Yami opened up about her unique experience filming her upcoming project, Article 370, while embracing motherhood.
Amidst light-hearted banter about potentially penning a thesis on navigating work during pregnancy, Yami candidly shared with the press the mental toll it can take. Reflecting on the journey, she admitted, “Navigating the ‘firsts’ is always an uphill battle. When it comes to balancing motherhood and professional commitments, having Aditya by my side has been an invaluable support.”
Expressing her sense of duty as an actor, Yami emphasized her commitment to completing the film despite the circumstances. “We were extremely cautious. It wasn’t the opportune moment to reveal the news, so we kept it under wraps during filming,” she disclosed. “Fortunately, I only had the talkie portions remaining to shoot. I’m immensely grateful to the medical professionals who discreetly monitored my well-being throughout.”
Yami expressed her satisfaction with the training regimen she underwent to portray an NIA agent in the film. “The majority of the training and stunt work was completed before I became pregnant,” she disclosed, highlighting the need for caution. “It’s a surreal feeling knowing that my baby was part of this journey; it was always the two of us putting in the effort. Additionally, I drew inspiration from my mother, witnessing her dedication during pregnancy. Indian women possess a strength that often goes unrecognized.”
Yami and Aditya’s paths crossed during the filming of his 2019 directorial “Uri: The Surgical Strike.”. After two years of courtship, the couple exchanged vows on June 4, 2021, in an intimate ceremony held in the serene landscapes of Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by just 20 of their nearest and dearest, their low-key wedding announcement on Instagram caught many off guard, as the couple had managed to keep their relationship under wraps until then.
